Description of Instructional:
This instructional is designed for wrestlers of all skill levels who want to improve their ability to turn and pin their opponents with leg riding.
In this instructional, 3 time NCAA champion and 2x Hodge Trophy winner will share his techniques, strategies, and tips on how to stay tough on top and break your opponents.
The instructional will cover a range of topics, including breakdowns, tilts, riding legs, and pinning your opponent. Zain will teach you how to stop your opponent’s first move off of the whistle and stay tough on top until your opponent has no choice but to quit!
Throughout the instructional, you will learn a variety of tilts, turns, and pinning combinations primarily from a figure-four leg ride. By the end of the instructional, you will have a comprehensive understanding of how to control your opponent from the top position, score points, and get more pins.

Zain Retherford’s Bio:
Retherford is widely regarded as one of the most dominant wrestlers in NCAA wrestling history.
Although Zain is a well-rounded competitor, his ability to turn and pin any opponent set him far apart from his competition in his high school and NCAA career. Zain is a 2x Pennsylvania state champion and compiled a high school record of 131-3.
Zain is a 3x NCAA Champion and 2x Dan Hodge Trophy Winner. Zain was also an integral part of the Penn State team’s dominance over the last several years, securing 3 team titles while on the starting roster. To highlight how good Zain is, during his 3 NCAA title runs, in 15 matches he had: 5 falls, 7 technical falls, 1 major decision, and 2 decision wins.
On the Men’s Senior Freestyle stage, Zain competes at 70 kgs and is the current representative of Team USA.
Zain has won several national and international tournaments and has medaled at many more.- including a Gold Medal at the 2023 World Championships and Silver Medal at the 2022 World Championships. Zain will compete for a spot on the 2024 Olympic team.
