A United States Marine Corps veteran and former New York City police officer, Rob Constance has been training and studying BJJ for over 25 years. Earning his black belt in 2008 from one of Jiu-Jitsu’s most iconic figures, Renzo Gracie, Rob is also the visionary and creator behind NYC Ultimate Absolute, the submission only grappling tournament held in New York in both 2011 and 2012.
An ADCC trials veteran, Rob has been teaching and coaching for over 15 years, working with fighters of all levels, amateur up through professional. Known as a “blue basement” fixture, he is recognized for his innovative use of technique as applicable to the concept and theory of boxing and its correlation to MMA and fence wrestling. Additionally, Rob has recently returned to the New York City Police Academy as an educator, directing and teaching demonstrative workshops in defensive tactic training.
