Becoming more athletic is a great skill to develop for both wrestling and jiu jitsu!

In this instructional, Beau Bartlett, Penn State All-American and a 2021 Junior World Bronze Medalist, will share concepts about wrestling with athleticism and how he uses the concept to beat his opponents in fundamental wrestling positions.

This instructional is great for Jiu Jitsu players and wrestlers of all skill levels!

The content is primarily focused on fundamental wrestling – motion, footwork, fakes, getting off of bottom, and more – but Beau integrates how he is able to out-maneuver opponents with athleticism.

Beau Bartlett’s Bio:

Beau Bartlett is one of the most exciting wrestlers competing at the NCAA and Senior level today – you may be familiar with him beating opponents in Happy Valley or from his viral tumbling videos on social media!

Beau is absurdly athletic and a gifted wrestler – you can see how he uses his athleticism to his advantage in his wrestling matches!

Beau is a product of wrestling powerhouse Wyoming Seminary in Pennsylvania. He had an outstanding high school career, capturing titles at some of the toughest tournaments in the nation like the Powerade and Walsh Jesuit Iron Man tournament.

Beau was a 2021 Junior World Bronze Medalist and placed 3rd at the 2023 NCAA Championships and followed up with a 2nd place finish in 2024. He’s been a staple in the Penn State lineup, first competing at 149 his freshman and sophomore year, then dropping to 141 during his junior and years in 2023 and 2024.

On the Men’s Senior Freestyle stage, Beau currently competes at 65 kgs and has a promising future. At the 2023 US Open, Beau faced fellow Nittany Lion and Ocean Instructor Nick Lee and had an absolute barn burner with the eventual World Team member – which ended in no shortage of controversy.

Unique insights with some new technique pointers on finishing that are rarely discussed (standing single finish for shorter guys, not getting rolled in crackdown, etc.).
